How To Fix Missing Application Menu and Hidden Taskbar Panel in Kali Linux


Kali Linux panel not showing my screen how can do this!

Hello Guys, staywithfahim back Again with another video, in this video i will show you Get Back xfce4-panel within 2 minites, xfce4-panel error D.Bus Kali lInux 2023 how to fix applications menu and desktop icons disappeared after upgrade. this happened after upgrade from kali 2020.1.

Basically this happens due to dbus errors and it's too simple to fix it...

Here are the commands that i used to fix it..

1: xfce4-panel --quit

2. ps -aux | grep xfc

3. pkill xfconfd

4. rm -rf ~/.config/xfce4/panel

5. cd .config/xfce4/

6. ls

7. rm -rf panel

8.cd

9. rm -rf .config/xfce4/xfconf/xfce-perchannel-xml/xfce4-panel.xml

10. xfce4-panel


2nd is There could be a few different reasons why your Kali Linux panel is not showing up. Here are a few things you can try:

  1. Restart your computer: Sometimes a simple reboot can fix the issue.

  2. Check your panel settings: Right-click on the desktop and select "Panel > Panel Preferences." Make sure the "Panel 1" tab is selected, and check that the panel is not set to auto-hide. Also, make sure that the "Show hide buttons" and "Show windows buttons" options are selected.

  3. Reset the panel: If the settings look correct but the panel still isn't showing up, you can try resetting it. Right-click on the desktop and select "Panel > Add New Panel." Once the new panel appears, right-click on it and select "Delete This Panel." Then right-click on the desktop again and select "Panel > Panel Preferences > Panel 1 > Reset Panel."

  4. Reinstall the panel: If resetting the panel doesn't work, you can try reinstalling it. Open a terminal and run the following command: sudo apt-get install kali-linux-full. This should install all of the default Kali Linux packages, including the panel.

  5. Check for updates: It's possible that a software update could fix the issue. Open a terminal and run the following command: sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade.

If none of these solutions work, you may need to seek further technical support.
